As I sit here in summer I am grateful for your words, for the reminder that I need not be sad (already) at the thought of summer ending, but instead remember the peaceful time of winter where plans and dreams take shape. It makes my heart swell at the thought of you watching Great Canal Journeys, as I sit here on the canal.
The Book Barge. Superb space of delight. And she talked about a book title of a woman's life on a narrowboat. Emma Smith's Maidens' Trip - the extract was lovely. I found it on Booktopia and decided the cover did nothing for the excellence of the writing...
Ah yes! The Book Barge has since sailed over the sea to France! I don't think it's open right now, but the plan was to rent it as a writer's retreat or similar. Sarah is lovely. And I have Maiden's Trip right here on my bookshelf. A wonderful book!

Just watching another episode and saw the loveliest narrowboat bookshop! How divine!
Ah, was the Word on the Water or Sarah of the Book Barge?

This is what I love about online connection. Such serendipitous things...
