I adored this post, Prue! I too love rockpools - within striking distance of home we have super beaches with plenty on offer - I could spend an entire day seeing what I can find. So sorry to hear about your glute - that's soooo frustrating. Sending healing hugs!
Thank you for such a delicious smorgasbord of links to check out - I'm going to be happily engaged for HOURS!!!
Rockpools (and indeed the ocean) are so enticing - another secret world. I could fossick for ages.
Yes, the glutes are a pain. I tore two glutes last year and had them mended (dextrose shots) and it seems like a 'tear' pain in the buttock again. i do have a tendency to tear tendons and ligaments - congenital through Mum (brother's the same). But I have strong bones so that's good!
Prue, I've learned a new word - thank you so much! Google tells me that 'fossick' is an informal Australian word meaning 'rummage' or 'search'. I'm now on a quest to adopt it. 🤣
Gosh, I'm glad you've got strong bones, but your soft tissues sound like rather a different story. Do take care!
Having been a ‘free’ roustabout myself for the majority if my childhood - and spent many a month leaving the tasty food in the fridge ‘for the shearers’ …decided that marry a stud sheep farmer was not in the rankings of life’s dreams. Haha. But I miss my soft hands from skirting a fleece. Gosh they were soft xxx
I love the places you explore. My hubster liked Fubar too. I will look for Michael Palin's travel show. You might like The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy. Enjoy the weekend.

It won't surprise you, I'm sure, that I went straight over to Google Maps to figure out the distance between Sydney and The Bay of Fires. Alas...might not be in the cards, but my goodness, how beautiful! Hope you are feeling restored.
How lovely it would have been to meet up for a coffee. If you make it to Tasmania let me know. It's a 2 hour flight from Sydney but such a lovely island to tour around...
Another trip down under isn't in the near-term plan, but there's always the possibility of a next time. You'll be among the first to know if I make it to Tasmania!

Jo, you can come and skirt fleeces any time we shear as it's hell's own job trying to find someone who does it well!
hahahah!
Enjoy your break, it’s sounds well needed. The Bay of Fires is so magical, all those orange rocks and clear water.
The water has been amazing. Even more beautiful to swim in. Lovely stay away, but wonderful to get back to our own little cottage by the sea.

You'll be in Oz?

Great post...I'm a Queer Eye and Stan Getz fan, too. Enjoying 'The Girl from Ipanema' as I write this!
