Such a delightful read in every way - I felt as though I was right there with you (and The Terrier of course!) I also understand "hiraeth" as this is something that I often experience so strongly. (I call it The Corned Beef Key in my chest ...) Anyway - loved every bit of this and how funny to think that your "weathered men" will never realize that they are faintly famous now ...

I thought of that. They're still anchored as the breeze is still a strong southerly up the passage (Mercury Passage) and it's quite a small vessel.

I'd loved to have asked the why's and wherefore's of their adventure, but I felt as though I might intrude and when folk don't look one in the eye and give a wide smile, one can feel the boundaries.

Perhaps they'd had an argument in such close quarters, perhaps there are two skippers on this vessel. I love imagining...
