oh my goodness Prue, I was grimacing reading about your splits, I hope you heal quickly and fully.

I have the same Mothers Day policy, telling my kids when they were younger it's how they treat me everyday that matters, not the one hallmark day designed to take their money and add to my clutter. So good to not feel so alone.

'Every day in every way, I'm getting better and better...' Walking does help and then swathes of anti-inflammatories.

I'm so glad to hear that someone else thinks the same as me and my late Mum about Mother's Day. Onwards together...

Oh dear, those splits sound sooo painful. I'm impressed you had the wherewithal to make it to the sea to swim. But that effort seems to have been well worth it. And beautifully described! Hope you have kept the chill from your bones since that time.

That knitting video and song is exquisite. A beautiful sentiment rendered with such glowing expressions on those faces. Wow, I really enjoyed that.

The Spanish seem to be very thoughtful and progressive on many fronts-it is lovely to learn about their policies from my friends who live there, and then to visit and see for myself now and again. The number and size of parks and gardens open to the public within Madrid for example, is astonishing.

Sending continuing healing thoughts!

Sabrina, we were so impressed with the magnificent parks, wetland areas office exteriors and even little streets which had been greened with small trees and terracotta-potted geraniums on the walls. In a country that's hot and getting hotter, whatever can be done to create microclimates makes so much sense. It was a fabulous series to watch. I recommend it.

My thigh is doing well, thank you, and it simply has to be better by next Wednesday so I can go to class. The bonus is that it's not stopping me walking - that would have been a tragedy. So a torn muscle is fine. Your healing thoughts are gratefully received.

that does sound like a fascinating series; we'll check it out! I often wonder if I could cope with life at all if I couldn't walk. I understand you there completely! ❤️

Crikey! I felt that fall!! Glad you found some COLD water healing! I have mixed emotions around Mother's Day! I'm admitting to old ingrained pressure from my FATHER who insisted we make Mum's day special! As an adult with my own kids ...it still happened that way too. So, big fast forward to my dear Mum's death in 2007 & I decided to let my adult kids know "nothing around Mother's Day" for me. Sent them cards & said enjoy the day for you. But... tiny but.. I still want to be remembered.. & this year I had a phone call from son, and his 4 offspring & texts from one GD & hugs from daughter & her youngest & her son.

Always each to their own, Denyse. It's a personal thing.

Oh Prue!!! Oh no! I’m so glad that the numbing sea bath helped. Brrrr….. Hoping that things continue to heal well. Sigh.

My father was the one in our family who refused to acknowledge Fathers Day. ‘Every day is for fathers and mothers and children. We don’t need special days.’ Our Mothers Days were simple affairs but still recognised my dear hard-working Mum.

And I loved that gentle final video. I had to look away from the ‘knitting’ occasionally as it clearly wasn’t actual knitting, but quite a bit of it was sufficiently realistic thankfully. A beautifully delicate tune, beautifully translated by AI as ‘the tool’ as the creator suggests. Thank you for sharing.

Take care of yourself my dear. Sending hugs and best wishes. Enjoy your paradise.

Am healing well, thanks Beth. I'm convinced the chilled ocean did the initial bit.

My Dad was similar to your Dad, but then my parents were always on the same page. Quite the team.

Wasn't the video cute? I actually wanted crocheting but this was just as good. There's others in the series that are quite soft and sweet.

"... just loving the impossibly blue skies and water" - what a vision. Such beauty you described.

Yikes about your fall and injuries! 😕 The healing properties of the ocean seemed to heed your call; I hope you're on the mend.

I relate to the new development; often it feels as if interlopers arrive and decide without regard to those who live in an area, "what should be done". Stop, I say. Just stop.

The knitting video is fantastic - I've shared it with my family. Have a great weekend, Prue, and may healing continue.

Thank you, Mary.

I get so frustrated with development. Of course we all have a chance to make a submission before approval is given but the fact is that our state government has changed the development rules so that anyone can pretty well build anything they want in the name of progress.

This is when I support our 'green' political party - they're the only voice in the madness.

Hope your weekend goes swimmingly too! Cheers.

Oh my gosh - I was cringing as I read your description of the splits - amazing you didn’t break something. I hope the torn muscle heals quickly.

Big tick to you getting in the cold sea to help the inflammation. I hate the cold so have to say the snuggling in bed with a hot water bottle, electric blanket and dog sounds much more comforting.

Loved the knitting video - more gentle comforting

I couldn't believe that no tendons snapped as I have notorious tendons and ligaments. And yes, I think the ocean worked. After that, its been bucketloads of Voltaren gel smeared all over the damaged quad.

Thanks for commenting, Janine.

I think your intuition was spot on Prue, getting to the sea right after that tumble. So sorry to hear though - but sure it won't slow down your dancing! Very sweet of The Womble to spend his pocket money on you esp since he's a Terrier-ist! You should be flattered, lol. Please take care of that leg Xo

He's honestly the sweetest dog. We are so lucky to have been sent this little fellow after the Late Terrier passed away.

Leg slowly getting better... but its amazing how much bending and squatting one does in the course of an average day - so it's hard to shepherd it. XXXX
