I can remember back in the day reading the Herriott books at night and laughing and having to read bits out to my husband. Wondering if we should call a new pup Tricky... maybe not.
Tricky!! Well, you have a name in reserve if you can’t come up with anything else 😊 Thank you for the reminder that I really should start reading the Herriott books!
I am a late comer to the delightful Sandi Toksvig & love her narration of her books. Your weather looks .."wet"...here in Sydney we are currently around 34c! Air con is our friend ..take care
Wet and humid, Denyse. Quite mild though. But nothing like NSW has at the moment - thank heaven. I'm no good in the heat. The air-conditioner would be a tiotal constant!.
It sounds like you are in a good place, a lovely post full of contentment. Lovely to see photos of where you live, the ordinary for you the exotic for me ;)
I think the northwest of England sounds perfection. It's always a case of grass being greener, isn't it? Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I value it.
Ah Prue, lovely to hear from you. I have my fingers crossed that we will get some decent rain in the next few days. Everything is so dry! Thank you for taking us with you today, so that we can enjoy your peaceful seaside and lifestyle. Sending heaps of hugs. Take care my dear. 🤗🤗
Thank you, Beth, for reading. I always worry when sending out more than one in a week. It was such a lovely walk though and I'm hopeless at poetry so had to write about it in prose.
Yes, its been awfully dry here too. Cracks in the soil everywhere so this 'wet' rain is most welcome. It's misty and gentle, coating the ground in beads of moisture that sink in, rather than a downpour that just slides over the top. XXXX
First position. Christmas Tomtes (😍). Truffle shavings. So many delightful moments here, Prue. Thanks for taking me walking with you. The rhythm of this day is soothing.
Thank you, Elizabeth. I suspect the end of the week post may be damp (and hopefully as soothing to me and you) as well. We're in the throes of a traditional Easterly which causes mizzle drizzle to bead and cover everything and which lasts up to 4 days.
I feel it's important to write whenever the spirit moves. Those emotions usually result in heartfelt and unique stories like this lovely post.
I've fallen behind in my reading due to illness and a trip away from home (and the computer.) I missed the post regarding the loss of your precious Terrier. I'm so sorry; they truly hold a special place in our hearts. Letting them go is one of the hardest things we do, the price we pay for their loyalty and companionship. I send my sincerest wishes for healing.
That's very kind of you, and I truly appreciate it. I do hope you're on the mend now and that your holiday away has revived you somewhat. As I mentioned to Elizabeth, the next post may be damp as well as the weather is very wet in a mist-bedecked way and likely to be for the next few days. I should do my Christmas cooking!
Your photos are always so beautiful, regardless of the subject. Your needlework is divine. I just love it. Posting when feeling moved to do so can be the very best.
This was a perfect meditation to wake up to on an also grey misty Thanksgiving morning! Beautiful photos reflect the beauty of your walk and the calmness it provided. We love the tomtens in our family too! I'm so excited to have my family together so we can begin the season of the tomtens, once we are recovered from Thanksgiving :). Maybe I'll try to copy your idea of hearts with tiny tomtens on them: what perfect little bundles of joy!
Such a soothing post - soft like the rain which you've made look so beautiful.
I love the names 'popper bead seaweed' and 'Neptune's necklace'! I wonder if that's what we call 'bladder wrack' - although I'm ashamed to even write that here, as it's far less attractive a name than your two! x
All Creatures is the nicest show on telly…
Heaven. I always have watery eyes when the theme plays. Love the way it harks back to the original.
Me too… I rewatched the original (and reread the books) when the new version hit our screens.

A lovely soothing piece, Prue. Quietly contemplative and calmly uplifting. I love the flow of your writing.
Thank you, Rosy. That's very kind of you.

Happy to send you a couple and the template for 1000hearts. It's a movement that's spreading across the world. Let me know.
I’d love that! I’m working on rudimentary embroidery and this would give me a focused practice. Thank you so much 😊
Will post this coming week.
I don't think I have your email address. DM to my email.

Yes, I have to agree. Our names are slightly more romantic. Thanks for reading, Rebecca!
Pretty much any name at all is more romantic than ‘bladder wrack’! 🤣
Sounds like an old woman's peeing problem!
HA!!!!!!!! 🤣
Thank you for taking us along on one of your rambles! I love seeing your landscape, along with your poetic descriptions.
Mary Poppins in first position! Why didn’t I ever see it before? If you’ve got your umbrella I hope you’re on the watch for any strong errant breezes!
All Creatures became my favorite TV show this year. I cannot rave about it enough. So life-affirming 🥰
