What a golden wedding anniversary story! Yay for you both โIn sickness and healthโ does test us oldies for sure. Beautiful pics! And your story always a wonderful read.
We did the slightly more outgoing celebration because it was right in the midst of COVID restrictions 2021 so we had one daughter and her lot come to us for lunch on the actual day, & our son and his 4 the day before. We could only have 5 visitors! I think it was me deciding I needed a project in those times and we had fun making the memories for the 8 grandkids to see and it was a good time after my years of cancer.
Congrats again! And hereโs to many many more years of love and being together!
What a wonderful man he is and also lucky to have your beautiful self. The years pass so quickly and to look back and see how much you have shared is such a gift. May you both share many more happy, and hopefully accident free years to gether.โค๏ธ
Thank you, Lynne. It all seems to have happened in the blink of an eye. I think the best part is that with him by my side, I feel so very safe. Lucky, I am...
Happy anniversary dear people. Sounds like a very memorable 50 years! Iโm glad youโre able to celebrate with some slightly quieter years now. Best of luck with health, wealth and happiness. ๐ค๐ค
Beth, it has really been the best. He's a worrisome old thing sometimes, but I'm happy to be there when he needs me and Heaven's knows he's always been there for me.
What a wonderful tribute! You two are an impressive duo and like Beth says, hopefully youโll have many more of the calm days in the garden, ranch, beach and on the water. I love your descriptions of his lively activities. Between the two of you, I can see how your life has been filled with such energetic joy โค๏ธ big congratulations on your milestone!
I think it's the most wonderful thing if you can find the perfect soulmate, Sabrina. He and I aren't golfers, tennis players etc etc and apart from my ballet, we don't belong to clubs or anything. We really are a team and prefer to be in each other's company to beetling off to be with others - it's got a lot to do with what we have in common. Perhaps we each won the lottery. Thank you so much for your kind words.
I think true partnerships like your yours arenโt found every day, and it is a treat to hear about those that work so well. Thank YOU for sharing your joy with us!
Oh Prue, what an absolutely gorgeous tribute to your husband and your marriage - so very many congratulations to you both! Such a lovely post - and such brilliant stories and memories of a long and happy marriage. Happy sigh - and a tear in my eye. Just WONDERFUL. xxx
Thank you, Rebecca. Honestly, when he begins to regale our family with his daringly crazy adventures, I'm seriously surprised he made it to this point. The family are usually in stitches. Must tell the story about the dynamite and the yabbies one day... XXXX
Thanks, Jo. We OD'ED on sparkling elderflower bubbles and the coffee sponge last night. Neither of us drink and the elderflower hit the celebration with just the right amount of verve.
Aw. that literally brought tears to my eyes. Happy anniversary Prue. I loved the photos, the canter through your life (and your husband's nine lives) - your smiles lit up my afternoon. Wish I could share your coffee cake with you but, as it is, enjoy and here's to many more wonderful years together. x
Thanks, Jennifer. It's been a generally happy and gentle marriage and I wish you could have shared a slice of the cake too (it was soooooo yummy!). Here's to cake one day when you're on the global book tour!
Happy anniversary! How wonderful that you found each other so early in life and have been able to enjoy so many years togetherโฆ despite your husbands efforts to maim himself!
It's funny the way it all happened - its definitely a story for another post. But we were indeed almost fated to be together. Thank you for your kind wishes.
Happiest Anniversary to you both Prue! You are so fortunate to have had these all these years with such a lovely (if accident prone!) man. Anyone can see the mutual delight and love in every pic I've seen of you two and it's just so endearing. Enjoy that cake as well! Xo
Thanks, dear Sue. He's my soulmate in so many ways. I doubt I could ask for too much else from the gods when I have someone like him by my side. It's a lottery win.
PS: the cake, thanks to my mum's recipe, is to die for. I was worried it wouldn't turn out but it cooked, creamed and iced swimmingly. Much love.

Thanks dear Libby. Yes, he's remarkable but we often say he should never be at the farm on his own!
Thats very true
Congratulations to you both, wishing you well for the future years.
Thanks, Caro. Onward for many years to come.

What a wonderful achievement 50 yrs together and him still alive.
Congratulations
Now Iโm wondering what he would write about you??
Thanks, Kate. When I think on it, I'm probably one of his liabilities!
Iโm thinking more of a guardian angel, swooping in to patch up the injuries.
Now that would be good.

Now that story sounds terrifying, Prue!
Isn't it amazing to think that in the 50's and 60's, children had ready access to sticks of dynamite when they lived on farms... sigh.
Itโs extraordinary! And barmyโฆโฆ.!
Congratulations. A quiet steady loveโthe best in my estimation!
Thanks, Alice. It is mostly quiet and certainly very steady. We're are very lucky.
SUCH an accomplishment even without the accident-prone choice! Wishing you continued joy and adventures. J
Thanks, Janice. Here's to many more years. One can't help wondering in our seventies, how many more? I need to wrap him in cottonwool.
Happy Anniversary โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐ฅ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
